This is the new piece that I am currently working on. It has been since September 2006 that I have not finished such an illustration! I made some 2D illustrations in early 2007 but nothing else has been finished since then
Why? Because I have been scrapping everything I have started. Since I have met excellent illustrators at Ubisoft, such as Raphael Lacoste, Pascal Blanché, Joel Dos Reis Viegas (aka Feerik. from Steambot), Maxime Desmettres, etc., I have been extremely motivated to improve myself but at the same time I have become much more critical of my own work! This is why I have produced so little over a year. On top of that I am constantly looking at great artworks produced by people from around the world on websites such as CGSociety or Startdrawing.org that I feel like I have to do much better than I can at my current level! I see many flaws in my work (too static, not enough dynamism, lack of life, lack of interesting perspectives, over reliance on 3D base, etc.). But there will be no improvement with thoughts alone, so it's back to work!
I will definitly finish this piece, it is progressing to levels that I am satisfied with. I will more than likely add color as well, but this will be a dangerous step that can make or break the whole image, so I will have to be very efficient in my approach. Characters will be needed too, I don't want to make the same mistake as in my previous works.
Leave some tips and comments if you want (it seems not a lot of people visit the 2D W.I.P. section, myself included!)
Oh BTW I have started to get into music composition, but mainly electronic/house music. Hopefully with enough time and dedication I will be able to share it in the future.
